Environments for Learning

GHMA has completed in excess of 500 school projects featuring additions, seismic upgrades, renovations of various types, and new facilities, in both the public and private sectors. Our experience with these projects enables us to be fully conversant with current education facility trends and requirements, including:

  • Environmentally sustainable design and LEED®;
  • Use of wood in accordance with the Wood First Initiative;
  • Neighbourhood Learning Centres;
  • Project funding procedures, and;
  • Student-centred learning concepts.

 

Case Study

University Highlands Elementary:

This project involved the conversion of an existing academic and office building near the main campus of Simon Fraser University into a 40K/275 student elementary school.
